The Single Hop Series started in Spring 2017, we knew we wanted a new range of beers and we thought we’d give ourselves a challenge & see what we could come up with using only one hop. It really has restricted us and we’ve had to be precise, making the most of all the characteristics of that one hop without anything else masking it.
It has been a great learning experience for all of us and seems to have gone down pretty well, we’ve created a variety of interesting beers which have a story to tell. The favourites have already made a welcome return and we will probably make more.
GAMBLER

GOLDEN SINGLE HOPPED AMARILLO
Clean, smooth, gently hoppy golden ale, single hopped with US Amarillo hops.

GOLDEN SINGLE HOPPED JARRYLO
The second of the single-hopped range for 2017, pouring a lush pale gold. The unique US Jaryllo hop gives notes of orange, fruit, banana; even pear is there, then light spice flavours in a spectacular, unique and balanced 5% hoppy golden beer.

UBER PALE SINGLE HOPPED CASCADE
Cascade is one of the most recognizable flavours in the industry. Intense but rounded citrus peel, orange, tangerine, floral, pine and lychee. Light body, smooth, clean, medium-light mouthfeel with good carbonation and balanced malts.
CALYPSO

PALE SINGLE HOPPED CALYPSO
Pale with a superb white head. Flavour of apples, pears, stone fruit and lime citrus. Maris Otter malt alongside a small amount of cara malt creating a perfect rounded biscuity body. Very refreshing with a crisp, fruity aroma.
OPTIMIST
4.4% ABV (5% in bottle)
GOLDEN SINGLE HOP MOSAIC
Optimist is our single hop golden ale using Mosaic, a beer we just keep brewing because we love it so much.
An intensely fruity, bubblegummy flavour and a smooth finish. The Vienna malt offers additional sweetness and nutty notes with a light golden/copper colour finished off with a beautiful proud white head.
A pint to drink with pals and repeat.
ELLEHAMMER

SINGLE HOPPED CHINOOK IPA
100% US Chinook hops bring a balance of citrus, grapefruit, spice and pine.
This is a pale beer with a dry finish, bursting with hop character and a beautiful grapefruit flavour in the finish. Smooth.
MANDARINA BAVARIA
4.8% ABV
HAZY HEFEWEIZEN
Everything that is great about German wheat beer, on cask! You're going to get the classic banana and clove notes through the German wheat yeast used.
Mandarina Bavaria is a banger of a German hop that adds a subtle but distinct mandarin flavour.
Deliberately hazy in the style of all great Hefeweizen (a rare but appropriate departure from our normal insistence on clear beer on cask).
HOFF
4.9% ABV
CALIFORNIAN STEAM BEER
Our take on a California Common/Californian Steam. A hybrid between ale and lager from using lager yeast.
Hoff pours a crystal clear reddish brown colour with a thick off-white head. The taste is caramel malty backbone followed swiftly by subtle fruit and a touch of hop bitterness settling back into a refreshing amber lager finish.
